The results of my soil analysis are in! I learned about Redmond Agriculture’s soil analysis testing through Jill Winger’s Old Fashioned On Purpose podcast and was so excited to try it out. I know our soil isn’t great and I can’t just plop plants into it — but I wanted to know how to fix it to avoid buying tons of gardening mix ($$$$).
It was insanely easy to do the test; I gathered samples from several locations around the garden area, sifted the rocks and debris out, and added a scoop to the test pot. I shipped it off in its prepaid packaging and got my results within a week via email.
My soil is lacking in nitrogen, sulfur and iron. I’m excited to do some digging (hehe) figure out how to best improve my soil for spring.
