Build Update: it’s go time.

We went from 0 to 60 real quick since the county approved our residential building permit application on Monday.

Keith and Luke met up with our ICF contractor to come up with a game plan. They demonstrated how ICF goes together by making a small structure. Luke was pretty into it and discovered the magic and freedom of wearing shoes.

We have A LOT to accomplish in the coming weeks: digging out the crawlspace, widening the building pad, prepping for a water tank, digging and installing the septic system, moving and finishing the battery shed, getting solar set up, finishing our driveway and building a firewood storage shed.

When dad drags you on errands 🙄

My wishlist item is to flatten out the garden area so I can start my hugelkultur beds or at least have a flat area for no till beds next spring.

Our ICF forms should be done in several weeks. Then it’s time to put them together, pour concrete, get trusses and windows, put on siding, get a roof, frame the inside…and so on. It’s been a game of hurry up and wait, but now it’s time to hit the ground running!
