Build update: it’s time to excavate!

The last 48 hours have been filled with so, so many rocks and tons of dirt. People talk about homestead side hustles — maybe we ought to open a quarry.

Yesterday, Keith worked on peeling back the hill to accommodate our house and some space between the cut-into hillside and our exterior wall.

Today, our friend Coty came out to dig out the crawlspace on our house. He has heavy equipment experience and has been a freakin’ MVP.

Due to the sheer amount of rocks, there is still work to be done tomorrow (a little bit more to dig out on the house). It’s so exciting to see some tangible progress toward the house — I can’t believe that we might begin pouring concrete next week.
