After our dusting of snow, we warmed up and were pelted with rain. I wasn’t exactly expecting a moat when I walked out to our build site — but here we are. I guess that’s what I get for teaching citizens about making their house a castle when I taught crime prevention. For the record, I didn’t mean a literal moat.

Thankfully, our crawlspace has some water, but it doesn’t look like the outside of the pit. Also, my treated subfloor stood up nicely to the precipitation—we’ll take our wins where we can.
Despite the moat – and temperatures in the thirties – our exterior walls are going up. We were in a bit of a slow patch (crappy weather and our subcontractor had the flu) but we’re back in business. You can begin to see the outline of our windows – which is pretty cool to envision.

My dad gets back tomorrow and we’ll be sitting down to create a priority list this week.
